What Is 2540?
2540 is how The Point Church responds to people, places, and things in need. The name comes from the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:40:
“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
We believe following Jesus means more than simply noticing what is happening around us. It means responding. When a person needs help, a place needs care, or something in our community needs to be restored, supported, or made better, we want to be a church that moves
toward the need instead of walking past it.
We respond through five expressions of 2540: The Table, The Well, The Clothed, The Dwelling, and The Return. Together, they give us a framework to meet practical needs, care for people well, strengthen our community, and bring the hope of Jesus into the places that need it most.
Sometimes we respond directly as a church. Sometimes we come alongside trusted organizations already doing great work. And sometimes we build something new because the need calls for it. We don't start with a program. We start with the need—and ask how we can respond.
And how we respond matters.
We believe serving should always protect the dignity of the people we serve. People are not projects, numbers, or opportunities for recognition. We don't serve to be noticed or applauded. We serve because people matter to God, and because Jesus taught us that when we serve others, we are serving Him.
At its heart, 2540 is about running toward pain with the love of Jesus. It's choosing to see what others might overlook, stepping in when needs arise, and using what God has placed in our hands to make a difference.
